Tin Ka Ping Foundation Delegation Visits Hebei University
On April 22, Mr. Sam Tin, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, and Mr. Hoi-ting SIU, Chief Executive Officer, along with their delegation, visited Hebei University for an exchange meeting. Meng Qingyu, President of Hebei University, attended the symposium and delivered a speech, while Vice President Zhang Yangjian presided over the meeting.
At the symposium, on behalf of Hebei University, Meng Qingyu expressed gratitude to the Tin Ka Ping Foundation for its long-term support to the university and introduced the recent developments and future plans of the institution. Meng Qingyu emphasized that the advancement of higher education relies not only on the relentless efforts and hard work of educators but also on the strong support and assistance from all sectors of society, especially from philanthropic forces like the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, which embodies compassion, responsibility, and foresight. He expressed hope that the Tin Ka Ping Foundation would continue to care for, support, and guide the construction and development of Hebei University, assisting the university in addressing shortcomings and enhancing capabilities in areas such as improving educational facilities, building teaching and research platforms, and conducting moral education research. Together, both sides aim to renew their two-decade-long profound friendship and ensure that Mr. Tin Ka Ping’s spirit of promoting education is passed down and carried forward generation after generation in the land of Yanzhao and at Hebei University. Mr. Sam Tin introduced the foundation’s history, organizational structure, and current development, particularly its philanthropic philosophy and recent educational projects in collaboration with universities. He expressed anticipation for more cooperation with Hebei University in aesthetic education, moral education, and teacher training.
During the symposium, representatives from the Tin Ka Ping College of Art and the College of Education of Hebei University respectively introduced the development and cooperation intentions of their colleges. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the construction of teaching and research platforms, moral education research, student cultivation, faculty exchange, and joint project research. During the visit, the delegation toured the Tin Ka Ping College of Art and the University History Museum of Hebei University. Representatives from the Office of the President, the Office of HK, MO and TW Affairs, and other relevant units, along with faculty representatives, participated in the symposium.
