UNESCO Headquarters Sends Letter to Professor Du Hao of Hebei University
On July 22, 2025, a letter was received from UNESCO Headquarters, expressing appreciation to Professor Du Hao of Hebei University for his exceptional contributions as the chief planner of the themed event “Colorful World · Creative China” in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

Hebei University served as one of the organizers of the “Colorful World · Creative China” themed exhibition and the Forum on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, with Professor Du Hao as the chief curator and planner. The event was featured on the commemorative homepage of UNESCO's 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
In March 2025, Professor Du Hao attended relevant meetings at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. Based on the discussions, he creatively planned and organized this event.
On June 21, 2025, the opening ceremony of the “Colorful World · Creative China” themed exhibition and the International Forum on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions kicked off at the National Base for International Cultural Trade (Beijing) as part of the Midsummer Art Season in the Beijing Bonded Art Zone. The event was co-organized by the Cultural Industry Research Institute and the Institute of Regional and Country Studies of Hebei University, among others. It attracted artists and scholars from China, Japan, South Korea, the UK, Italy, Mauritius, and other countries, who gathered to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
Zhang Feng, Standing Committee Member of the Hebei University Party Committee and Vice President; Yang Xiuwen, Secretary-General of the Art Education Professional Committee of the China Education Development Strategy Society; Liu Changquan, former Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; Li Tao (Deputy Director-level), former Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Lu Haihong, Chairman of Beijing Shouwenke Cultural and Creative Properties Co., Ltd., attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches, elaborating on the deep connections between art education, cultural trade, and mutual learning among civilizations.
The concurrently held International Forum on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions brought together experts and scholars from universities and art institutions in China, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and other countries. Participants engaged in dialogues through diverse artistic expressions to interpret the global consensus on cultural diversity. Professor Du Hao, the chief planner of the “Colorful World · Creative China” themed exhibition, emphasized that the event, using art as a medium, integrated education, industry, and international communication, embodying the spirit of the UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity and contributing to the promotion of cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and other nations.
