Delegation from the State University of Goiás in Brazil Visits HBU

On March 6th, the delegation from the State University of Goiás in Brazil, led by Vice President Claudio Roberto Staehleira and Director of the State Government's Foreign Office, Jordano Sosa, visited Hebei University. Sun Maozhang, Deputy Inspector of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hebei Province, and Shen Shigang, member of the university's Party Committee and Vice President, met with the delegation at the Wusi Road campus. The meeting and the signing ceremony between the two universities were presided over by Xing Huibin, Director of the Office of International Cooperation.

Sun Maozhang, on behalf of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hebei Province, welcomed the visit of Vice President Claudio Roberto Staehleira and Director Jordano Sosa. He reviewed the history of exchanges between Hebei Province and the State of Goiás in Brazil, expressing hopes for future cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, education, and culture between the two regions. He hoped that Hebei University and the State University of Goiás would actively engage in practical cooperation in relevant fields, contributing to the promotion of high-quality exchanges and cooperation between China and Brazil on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Shen Shigang welcomed the delegation from the State of Goiás to Hebei University. He introduced the basic information of our university, as well as the cooperation and exchanges with Brazilian universities, expressing the hope that through this meeting, mutual understanding and communication between our university and the State University of Goiás could be strengthened, gradually advancing further cooperation and exchanges between the two institutions. He also hoped that the cooperation between the two universities could promote exchanges between Hebei Province and the State of Goiás in areas such as economy, culture, and education.

Vice President Claudio Roberto Staehleira of the State University of Goiás in Brazil introduced the basic information of the university in his speech, expressing the desire to enhance cooperation with Hebei University in areas such as biology, chemistry, water resources research and conservation, in terms of student and academic exchanges and scientific research. He also hoped that through cooperation with Hebei University, further contributions could be made to the friendly exchanges between the State of Goiás in Brazil and Hebei Province in China.

Director Jordano Sosa of the State Government's Foreign Office in Goiás, Brazil, expressed the hope to strengthen cooperation with Hebei Province in areas such as economy, trade, agriculture, and tourism. He also expressed the desire to promptly negotiate cooperation details with relevant units to promote the implementation of practical cooperation with Hebei Province and Hebei University.

Subsequently, witnessed by Sun Maozhang, Deputy Inspector of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hebei Province, and Director Jordano Sosa of the State Government's Foreign Office in Goiás, Shen Shigang and Claudio Roberto Staehleira signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities.
