Guo Jian Meets with the President of the National University of Quilmes

On the afternoon of October 26, 2023, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee of Hebei University (HBU) Guo Jian met the president of the National University of Quilmes (NUQ) Alfredo Alfonso, and expressed his welcome to the visit of Alfredo Alfonso and his delegation.

Guo Jian pointed out that Hebei Province in the north of China, and Buenos Aires (BA) where the NUQ lies in, have enjoyed friendship city relations over 31 years. On March 7, 2023, the two signed the memorandum of cooperation with the support of both government of Hebei Province and Buenos Aires, which was the first time that the HBU established relationship with high-level universities in Argentina. Since then, the exchanges between the two have become increasingly close. In April this year, HBU and the NUQ signed a cooperation memorandum for further cooperation online and have maintained good communication, carrying out various academic activities.

Guo Jian also stated that HBU is willing to further promote practical cooperation with the NUQ in various fields such as exchanges between teachers and students, and scientific research, to set an example of international exchanges and cooperation between first-class universities.

Alfredo Alfonso emphasized that the two universities have conducted fruitful cooperation, hoping that the two could take the visit and the signing of cooperation agreements as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in various fields and to deepen international exchanges and cooperation into a new level.

During the visit, school leaders of the two universities jointly signed five cooperation agreements in various fields such as scientific research and life sciences. Meanwhile, heated discussions over the details of cooperation were held with relevant heads of agencies, experts, and scholars.

Martin Rozengart, the Head of the International Division of the NUQ, and the Director of International Organizations, Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also accompanied to visit HBU. Besides, members from Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Hebei Province, P.R.C. China, and member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of HBU and Vice-President of HBU, Shen Shigang, and other members in HBU also participated in those activities.
