On the afternoon of September 10th, the Original Recitation Competition Final of the 6th “New Voice” College Student Art Festival of Language and Culture, which launched the new logo for the event, was successfully held in HBU. Meng Qingyu, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC HBU Committee and vice president of HBU, and Han Wen, director of the Language Office of the Hebei Education Department, attended and delivered speeches. HBU’s work “Bravery Dreamchasers in Sky” (Lan Tian Shi Jian) won the “New Voice” Award.
Meng Qingyu introduced the development history of HBU and the strong strengths and achievements of the School of Journalism and Communication to contestants from all over the country in his speech. He pointed out that the College Student Art Festival of Language and Culture, held by HBU since 2013, has become a well-known college student art activity of language and culture at HBU and has won the Gold Award in National College Student Quality Education Activities. He hoped that students could cleanse their souls, cultivate their sentiments, establish the core socialist values, and develop a patriotic, Party-loving, and major-loving ideology through the process of learning about heroes, loving heroes, and speaking about heroes. HBU is a national demonstration university for the standardization of language in Hebei, and it is also a National Language Promotion Base. The “New Voice” College Student Art Festival of Language and Culture has become an important platform in Hebei for promoting and inheriting excellent Chinese language and culture. Promoting and standardizing the use of the national common language while carrying forward and inheriting excellent traditional Chinese culture are important responsibilities and historical missions for young students in the new era. Han Lixin, dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, encouraged students to step out of classrooms in the creation of spoken language and explore the strong voice of the times in social practice.
After the on-site scoring of the panel, HBU’s “Bravery Dream Chasers in Sky” (Lan Tian Shi Jian), Communication University of China’s “Letter from Across Mountains and Seas”, and Communication University of Zhejiang’s “Voice of China” won the first prize in this competition. Besides, “Bravery Dream Chasers in Sky”, “See” of the Sichuan Normal University, and Hebei GEO University’s “Spring at the Fingertips” won the Best Original Work Award.
The competition received a total of 343 entries from 93 universities across the country. After multiple rounds of selection, 16 outstanding works qualified for the final.
Shan Juan, deputy director of the Language Office of the Hebei Education Department, Zhang Feng, director of the Academic Affairs Office of HBU, Wang Qiangjun, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office of HBU, Yan Shiyi, secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Journalism and Communication, and Wang Tingting, deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Journalism and Communication and deputy dean of the School, attended the event.
