HBU Hosted the National Digital Health Technology Conference

From February 11 to 12, the First National Committee Congress of the Digital Health Special Committee of the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization and the First Digital Health Technology Forum Annual Conference were held in Baoding, Hebei, sponsored by the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization, and the editorial offices of Radiology Science and Radiology of Infectious Diseases, and organized by HBU, the Affiliated Hospital of HBU, and the College of Electronic and Information Engineering of HBU. The conference focused on discussions on strategic perceptions in the field of massive health to achieve a more effective new digital health model to advance the construction of a “Healthy China”.

The conference started on February 11. A statement of congratulations was delivered to the conference by Xu Guanhua, the former Minister of Science and Technology and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Its successful inauguration was acknowledged by Dong Jiahong, the first honorary chairman of the Digital Health Special Committee of the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. An Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences named Wang Songling and Wang Fusheng both attended the conference in person and virtually, respectively. Also, leaders of the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization including Zhou Hua, Lin Chunqing, and Du Lin, and the Deputy Party Secretary of the Baoding Municipal Government, Ji Lin, attended the conference.

At the opening ceremony, Guo Jian, the Party Secretary of HBU, first delivered a welcome speech. He emphasized that the overall growth of health digitization will usher in a broad development prospect against the backdrop of actively supporting “Healthy China” and “Digital China” efforts. HBU will fully utilize all of the advantages that universities have to offer, enhance cross-innovation between the fields of information science and life science, strengthen interdisciplinary and cross-field applications, support the high-quality growth of digital health, and promote the construction of “Healthy China”.

Li Hongjun, the chairman of the forum, the first chairman of the Digital Health Special Committee of the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization, and a professor of Beijing Youan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, delivered the opening speech. He said that the Digital Health Special Committee of the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization will work to develop a science and technology service platform, continuously research new digital medicine models, and advance the state of science and technology in the healthcare sector.

Academician Wang Songling pointed out in his speech that the organic combination of big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and other technologies with medical treatment was expected to significantly improve the efficiency of disease diagnosis and treatment, drug retail, chronic disease management, public health management, and other aspects so as to quickly provide solutions for multiple scenarios of medical and health needs, and the digital health industry will undoubtedly play a leading role in the future.

The secretary-general of the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization, Lin Chunqing, read “the Decision of the Digital Health Special Committee of the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization on the Establishment of Digital Health Professional Committee” at the opening ceremony. Zhou Hua and Li Hongjun jointly unveiled the “Digital Health Special Committee of the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization”. Ni Zhiyu, a member of the Standing Committee and the Vice President of the Party Committee of HBU, and the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Affiliated Hospital of HBU presided over the opening ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, abundant online and offline academic lectures and seminars were held. In the academic lecture of the main forum, Academician Dong Jiahong delivered a report on the theme of “Regional Smart Health Medical System”, Academician Wang Songling delivered an academic report titled “Small Mouth, Great Health”, Academician Wang Fusheng shared an academic report titled “Clinical Research Progress of Cell Therapy for Major Infectious Diseases”. Professor Li Hongjun made academic reports such as “Application and Prospect of Spatial Omics Based on AI-Driven Medical Knowledge Graph”. There were many medical experts from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Tongren Hospital affiliated to CMU, Youan Hospital affiliated to CMU, Shanghai Changzheng Hospital, and many other domestic well-known tertiary hospitals, and experts and scholars from scientific research institutes such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, HBU and other well-known universities in the conference. Among the eight academic sub-forums of the conference, nearly 80 high-level academic lectures were held on such topics as digital internal and external clinical, digital minimally invasive intervention, digital inspection pathology, digital imaging and big data, digital rehabilitation nursing and health, high-tech artificial intelligence enterprises industry development, medical meta-universe and artificial intelligence, and standard interpretation. Among them, the relevant academic reports of Professor Yin Xiaoping from the Affiliated Hospital of HBU and Professor Liu Xiuling from the College of Electronic and Information Engineering of HBU won the unanimous approval of experts and scholars attending the conference.
