New Year message from HBU

On New Year's eve, we, on behalf of HBU, extend sincere greetings and New Year wishes to all teachers, students, staff, medical workers, retired comrades, alumni at home and abroad, and friends from all sectors of society who are concerned about the reform and development of HBU!

2022 is a vitally significant year in the history of the development of the Party and China. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has drawn a grand blueprint for promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through the Chinese path to modernization. Also, it has pointed out the direction and established an action guide for the development of the cause of the Party and the country in the new era and new journey and for the realization of the second centenary goal. We HBUers regard learning, publicizing, and implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC as the primary political task for the current period and the next one, highlighting the multiple forms, different levels, and full coverage. Learning upsurges have been popular in HBU. In the 8th plenary meeting of the 7th CPC Committee, we carried out strategic planning and overall promotion around the action of HBU, learned the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC by hearts, and spread the spirit deeply and practically.

In 2022, we have moved forward steadfastly with numerous hardships. No matter what did you work as in the last year, as teachers working hard to teach or students learning assiduously; as volunteers serving the Beijing Winter Olympics or cadres staying in villages to help the rural revitalization; as members of science and technology team that polishes the “the Pearl of North China”(Baiyang Lake) with sweat, or the teaching support team members who cultivate the children in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with youth; as the canteen workers who have gotten the postgraduate recommendation or the security personnel with civil and martial virtues… HBUers were busy with thousands of things, but they were struggling to move forward with the same attitude, presenting values through struggling and chasing dreams through running.

In 2022, we have made progress and overcome obstacles withstanding enormous pressure. Benchmarking the requirements of the new round of national "double first-class" construction, all teachers, students, and staff faced up to the gaps, firmed their confidence and determination, continued to work hard and practically, unified minds in liberating minds, and created the future in making progress, fully incarnating the ambition, backbone, and ambition of HBU. HBUers always believe that no matter how high the mountain is, we will climb to the top if we climb it up; no matter how long the road is, we will arrive at the end with perseverance.

In 2022, we have worked together to fight the epidemic. Faced with the outbreak of the campus epidemic, HBU prioritized the life safety and physical health of teachers and students. Under the strong leadership of the Hebei Provincial Committee and Provincial Government, under the careful guidance of the Provincial Department of Education, with the full support of the Baoding Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, and assistance from all sectors of society and alumni, Party members and cadres, teachers, students, and employees worked in harmony, gathering strong joint forces to win the battle of epidemic prevention and control, drawing up touching scenes of campus epidemic prevention and control. Salute to every ordinary hero around us!

Seemingly easy works imply painstaking efforts. Over the past year, we have overcome the impact of the epidemic to the greatest extent, coordinated the prevention and control of the epidemic and the development of HBU running, implemented the basic work ideas of “1236”, and continued to promote HBU to accomplish high-quality development. There have been new breakthroughs made in discipline construction, new leaps achieved in education and teaching reform, new changes made in personnel team building, new improvements realized in scientific research and innovation capabilities, new actions taken in social services, new momentum shown in education evaluation reform, and a new look of campus environment ... There also have been many memorable HBU voices, HBU moments, and HBU stories in 2022, which are the achievements of all HBUers who worked together and hard. Thumbs up to every hardworking HBUer!

The unusual 2022 will soon be over, and the hopeful 2023 is upon us. 2023 is the beginning year for the full implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and a critical year for implementing the “14th Five-Year Plan” and speeding up “double first-class” construction. Let us unite more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Party, continue to learn Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, keep to educate and cultivate outstanding personnel for the Party and the country, carry out the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, run education well that satisfies the people. Let us roll up our sleeves and strive to create a new situation of high-quality development of HBU,  to accelerate the construction of a strong country in education, science and technology, and talent, and make greater new contributions to accelerating the construction of a powerful nation of education, science and technology, and human resource, and to building a strong economic province and a beautiful Hebei!
