HBU Celebrates the Teachers' Day

On September 9, HBU held the Teachers' Day celebration meeting.  The leaders Guo Jian, Yang Lihai, Shen Shigang, Chen Hongjun, Xu Jianmin, Ni Zhiyu and Meng Qingyu attended the meeting that the Teaching Master of the Year, the Student Favourite Teacher of the Year, representatives of new teachers and retired staff, heads of administrative units and student representatives were also present. The meeting was chaired by Yang Lihai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University.

The meeting included an honourable retirement ceremony for retired staff, an award ceremony for the Teaching Master of the Year and the Student's Favourite Teacher, and an oath-taking ceremony for the new teachers. Guo Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, presented certificates to the representatives of retired staff and the 2022 Master Teachers, also awarded trophies to the second "Student's Favourite Teachers". The university leaders collectively presented the school badges to the new teachers.

In the speech, Guo Jian paid sincere tribute to the retired teachers, expressed his warm congratulations to the award-winning teachers and the new teachers, he also extended his holiday greetings to the teachers of the whole college. Guo Jian said that teachers are the sources and foundation of education development, they are the fundamental condition for promoting high-quality development of the university. He also expressed that the achievements of Hebei University in talent training, scientific research, social services, cultural heritage and innovation, as well as epidemic prevention and control are the result of the wisdom and sweat of every teacher in the university. Then, Guo Jian stressed that the whole university should thoroughly study and implement the important remarks of General Secretary Xi Jinping on education, adhere to the construction of the teaching force. Therefore, we would further sing the melody of strengthening the university with talents, promote the culture of respecting teachers, and always strive to build a new highland for high-end talents, always strive to improve the school environment to present a new look, always strive to promote the well-being of teachers to reach new heights, so that the majority of teachers can work comfortably and live happily at Hebei University. The leader hopes that all teachers in the university will be good teachers with strong faith, with the Party, the country and the people in mind, grasping the fundamental question of "for whom to train people, what to train and how to train people", never forgetting the original intention of cultivating people, remembering the mission of nurturing people for the Party and the country, and making it a fundamental task to train socialist builders and successors who are well-rounded in moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic development. We should be a good teacher with moral values in mind, insist on establishing ourselves, learning and teaching with moral values, strive to become a "great teacher", be a model for students in learning, being a person and doing things, and be a master of "virtue" and "wisdom"; be a good teacher with knowledge and dedication, with students in mind, with solid knowledge, excellent teaching ability, diligent teaching attitude, scientific teaching methods, and wholeheartedly serve the growth and success of students; be a good teacher with love and dedication in mind, with the school in mind, with the goal of a first-class university. Taking responsibility for the job, we will strive to create a new situation for Hebei University from the starting point of the new century, and welcome the victory of the 20th Party Congress with practical actions and excellent achievements!

Professor Wang Yongqing from the College of Electronic Information Engineering, Professor Li Ying from the College of Management, Song Qiaoli from the College of Journalism and Communication, and Dong Qi from the Class of 2020 Tourism Management student spoke on behalf of the retired staff, teaching masters, new teachers and all students respectively, expressing their love for the university and their expectations for the future, saying that they would work hard in their respective positions and move forward with determination, contributing to the realization of the dream of a first-class university.
