The Opening Ceremony of Research Center for the Neo-Shuimo Painting of HBU

On July 2, the Opening Ceremony of Research Center for the Neo-Shuimo Painting of HBU was held at the College of Art. Guo Jian, secretary of the university party committee, Ma Yufeng, the former leader of Baoding City, Liu Yunhai, former commander of the Shanxi Military Region, and Xie Jianhua, former deputy director of the Political Department of the Beijing Military Region, attended the opening ceremony. Chen Hongjun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of HBU, presided over the ceremony.

Liu Zongchao, Dean of the College of Art, Song Fengxuan, Director of Social Sciences Division, Chen Ruowen, President of TOWERCREST Group, and Han Feng, the painter, delivered speeches successively, congratulating the establishment of the center and affirming its research direction and characteristics. Yang Ermin, the director of the center, expressed his gratitude for the support and trust of HBU and talked about the scientific research ideas related to the center. Guo Jian and Ma Yufeng jointly unveiled the center.

Yang Ermin, a famous painter and is currently a visiting professor at the College of Art. Over the past decades, he has carried out artistic creation and exchanges in many places around the world. In 2003, he won the first Colombian World Painting Contribution Award (USA). He was listed as a national treasure young artist on Hurun Art List 2014. In 2017, he was awarded the Top Ten Artist Poet of Chinese Poetry List. In 2018, he was awarded the Honorary Knight Cross (France). In 2019, he was honored as Honorary Citizen of Volvic in France. In 2020, he was listed as an artist on Hurun Art List, and he won the Contribution Award of the 6th China Contemporary Poetry Award. Yang Naimin has held solo exhibitions in many cities around the world, and his works have been collected by important museums and art galleries at home and abroad, such as Vatican Museum, National Art Museum of China and Paris Contemporary Art Library. He has also published collections of academic articles, artworks, and poetry, etc. The establishment of the center aims to explore the modern transformation of Chinese painting and is committed to the reform and exploration of Chinese painting teaching.
