From May 15 to 17, the 13th Annual Conference of the Decision Science Professional Committee of the Systems Engineering Society of China was held in the Xiong’an New Area, Hebei Province. The conference was hosted by the Decision Science Professional Committee of the Systems Engineering Society of China, organized by the School of Management of Hebei University, and co-organized by the Hebei Provincial Research Base for Digital Governance and Collaborative Governance, and the School of Economics and Finance of Hohai University. Under the theme “Data-Driven Innovation in Management Decision-Making”, the conference brought together experts, scholars, faculty, and students from more than 30 universities and research institutions, including Renmin University of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Beijing Normal University. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the frontier advances and future challenges of big data, large models, and artificial intelligence in the field of management decision-making. Zhang Feng, Vice President and Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee of Hebei University, attended the conference.

In his opening speech, Zhang Feng highlighted Hebei University’s history and its major achievements in recent years in serving the strategic needs of both the nation and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. He emphasized that the university remains committed to the national digital economy development strategy and the integration requirements of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. He expressed the hope that, taking this annual conference as an opportunity, the university would deepen exchanges with academic peers, further promote the integration of digital technologies and management practices in the field of decision science, and contribute more intellectual support to high-quality development at both the national and regional levels.

During the keynote session, four distinguished scholars delivered in-depth and insightful presentations: Professor Zhou Xiaoying from Renmin University of China spoke on the evolution and risk governance of data application methods in cultural heritage; Professor Guo Haixiang from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) addressed data-driven large-group emergency decision-making methods under geological disaster chain scenarios; Professor Yin Yunqiang from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China discussed collaborative optimization of supply chain networks in emergency situations; and Professor Wang Bo from Beijing Institute of Technology presented on high-precision modeling of power systems and intelligent decision-making for supply-demand interaction.

The conference also featured two parallel sessions covering hot topics such as intelligent decision-making practice, “dual carbon” policy regulation, industrial chain resilience measurement, generative AI development, and online information governance. Scholars and experts from multiple universities and research institutions delivered excellent academic presentations and engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty and students from the School of Management of Hebei University, fostering academic consensus and inspiring research ideas through intellectual exchange.
