Hebei University Case Selected as an Outstanding Example in the Ministry of Education’s
“Educational Integrated Media 2025” Annual Cases
From December 16 to 17, guided by the News Office of the Ministry of Education and hosted by the Ministry’s Publicity and Education Center, the “’Join Hands to Advance, Form Alliances to Open the Future’ Educational Integrated Media 2025 Annual Conference” was held at Hunan University. The conference comprehensively reviewed the progress of integrated media development in the education system during 2025 and officially released the Outstanding Cases for Educational Integrated Media 2025. Hebei University’s entry, “Searching for Polar Shells: A Complete Integrated Media Report on the Kekexili Scientific Expedition,” was selected as an annual case in the integrated media collaboration category.
The selected work was jointly planned and produced by the university’s Publicity Department of the Party Committee, the School of Life Sciences, the Museum, and Hebei Great Wall New Media Group. It documents in full the field expedition and new species discoveries led by Professor Ren Guodong’s team in the Kekexili National Nature Reserve. The piece innovatively used forms of integrated media reporting such as live video streaming, documentary VLOGs, and interactive H5 features to present the hardships of field scientific expeditions, the researchers’ persistent spirit of exploration, and cutting-edge results in biodiversity research and ecological protection. It serves as an important communication practice for the university to highlight its discipline cluster of “life sciences and green development” and to showcase its research strengths.
Next, the university’s Publicity Department of the Party Committee will, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and fully implementing the spirit of the university’s Eighth Party Congress, carefully plan and produce integrated media works that are substantive, warm, and influential, centered on the goal of building a distinctive, internationally renowned, first-class high-level university, in order to create a favorable public-opinion environment for the university’s high-quality development.
