Delegation from Mekelle University, Ethiopia Visits Hebei University
On December 9, a delegation of four members from Mekelle University, Ethiopia, led by its Executive Vice President, Dr. Abdulkadir Kedir, visited Hebei University. The two sides engaged in deep and friendly discussions on topics such as joint discipline development, student and faculty exchanges, and academic cooperation. Hebei University Vice President Zhang Yangjian attended the event.
Zhang Yangjian extended a sincere welcome to the delegation from Mekelle University and provided a detailed introduction to Hebei University's history, disciplinary strengths, and the notable achievements it has made in recent years in the field of international exchange and cooperation. Dr. Abdulkadir Kedir expressed gratitude for the warm reception from Hebei University and briefly introduced the basic situation, disciplinary structure, and vision for international cooperation of Mekelle University.
Wang Baoxin, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Baoding Overseas Chinese Federation, and Zhang Qinghong, Vice Chairman, attended the symposium. Wang Baoxin stated that the Baoding Overseas Chinese Federation values the cooperation between the two sides and will actively play its role as a bridge and bond in the future, providing strong support and guarantees for the collaboration between the two universities.
During the meeting, the responsible persons from Hebei University's School of Electronic Information Engineering, School of Management, School of Economics, and School of Education introduced the discipline development, teaching and research, and international exchange activities of their respective schools. Meanwhile, representatives from Mekelle University's Institute of Mind-set Education, Ethiopian Institute of Technology-Mekelle, and College of Business and Economics also presented their respective profiles and intentions for international cooperation. Subsequently, both sides conducted in-depth discussions on specific cooperative matters, including joint discipline development, student exchanges, faculty visits, and academic research, reaching multiple consensuses and signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
This exchange activity enhanced mutual understanding and friendship between the two sides and opened broad prospects for future cooperation. Both parties unanimously expressed their commitment to further strengthening inter-university exchanges and cooperation, jointly exploring new models for international educational collaboration, and serving major national and regional development strategies.
