Six Scholars from HBU Selected for Elsevier’s 2024 “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” List

 

Recently, Elsevier officially released the 2024 list of “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers.” A total of six scholars from Hebei University were selected, representing three fields: natural sciences, engineering, and management. Professor Gong Zhizhong and Professor Zhang Yangjian, both vice presidents, along with Professor Wan Shiqiang from the College of Life Sciences, were included in the “Biology” category. Professor Han Xingguo, also from the College of Life Sciences, was recognized in the “Ecology” category. Professor Liu Yankui from the School of Mathematics and Information Science was selected in the “Management Science and Engineering” category, while Professor Yao Xiaotian from the College of Physics Science and Technology was recognized in the “Optical Engineering” category.

This list is based on citations and data from the Scopus database, which serves as a statistical source for the research achievements of Chinese scholars, employing methods developed by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. The 2024 “Highly Cited Chinese Researchers” list includes a total of 6,388 individuals from 547 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering ten disciplines and 83 first-level subjects as defined by the Ministry of Education.
