Hebei University’s Two Courses and One Base Recognized as National Educational Projects
On February 25, the China Education International Exchange Association announced the results of the first selection of outstanding national education courses for international students in China and social practice activity bases for Chinese and foreign youth. The courses “Advanced Chinese Listening and Speaking: Understanding Contemporary China” and “Hebei Culture,” as well as the base “Millennium Ancient City—Charming Xiong’an Youth National Conditions Experience Base,” submitted by the School of International Exchange and Education at Hebei University, were successfully selected.
The selection, organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange under the commission of the Ministry of Education, was open to universities nationwide. Through a process of voluntary applications by institutions, regional recommendations, and expert evaluations, 111 national education courses and 115 practice bases were recommended nationwide. Among these, Hebei Province recommended four courses and four bases, with both courses and the base submitted by Hebei University being approved.
The College of International Exchange and Education focuses on the learning characteristics of international students and has innovatively developed a national conditions education model that combines “historical immersion teaching + local cultural perception + contemporary Chinese understanding” in the courses “Advanced Chinese Listening and Speaking: Understanding Contemporary China” and “Hebei Culture.” This model aids international students in improving their Chinese language skills while optimizing the formation of a systematic understanding of China’s national conditions and cultural recognition, transitioning from “Knowing Yan and Zhao → Understanding China → Connecting with the World.” The “Millennium Ancient City—Charming Xiong’an Youth National Conditions Experience Base” leverages the historical richness of Baoding and the dual characteristics of the smart city construction in the Xiong’an New Area, designing practical modules such as historical and cultural visits, ecological governance investigations, and smart city experiences. Through immersive activities, Chinese and foreign youth can perceive the integration path of inheriting excellent traditional Chinese culture and achieving high-quality development.
In the future, the College of International Exchange and Education will further align with national smart education platform resources, promote the global sharing of high-quality courses, and use education as a bridge to facilitate mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations. By showcasing the contemporary charm of Chinese culture to the world, the college aims to inject new momentum into building a community with a shared future for humanity.
