The Affiliated Hospital of HBU Appointed as the Vice-chairman Unit of the Alliance for Lung Tumor Early Screening and Tubeless Minimally Invasive Technology of the National Center for Respiratory Medicine

 

On October 12, the Inaugural China Respiratory Health Conference opened in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. The conference, guided by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Health Commission, was hosted by the Guangzhou National Laboratory, the National Center for Respiratory Medicine, the National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Diseases, the National Key Laboratory for Innovation in Modern Chinese Medicine, the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the Guangdong Association of Thoracic Diseases, and the Guangdong Respiratory and Health Association, with the theme “Guarding Health, Creating the Future”. The Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Ho Lat Seng, the recipient of the Republic Medal, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhong Nanshan, and the recipient of the National Title of Honor “People’s Hero”, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Boli, attended the conference.
A plaque awarding ceremony was held at the opening. 150 medical institutions including the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University joined the “Alliance
 for Lung Tumor Early Screening and Tubeless Minimally Invasive Technology” of the National Respiratory Medicine Center. 17 well-known domestic medical institutions including the Affiliated Hospital of HBU were appointed as the vice-chairman units of the alliance. Li Hefei, director of the Department of Thoracic Surgery of the Affiliated Hospital of HBU, was invited to attend the conference and presented the plaque on stage.
It is reported that
, the incidence and mortality of lung cancer remaining high, early detection and early treatment are crucial to improving the survival rate and quality of life of patients, thus promoting early screening and treatment of lung cancer is a key issue. The alliance will take technical cooperation as a link, focus on the promotion of lung cancer early screening technology and tubeless minimally invasive technology, promote the standardization and homogenization of chest disease screening, diagnosis and treatment, and improve the level and service of lung cancer early screening and tubeless minimally invasive technology of each member of the alliance, comprehensively raise the early discovery rate of lung cancer, reduce surgical trauma and complications, and elevate the survival rate and quality of life for lung cancer patients.
This
appointment of the Affiliated Hospital of HBU indicates that the hospital has gained wide recognition from the domestic industry in the prevention and treatment of lung cancer. Since 2018, Li Hefei, director of the Department of Thoracic Surgery of the Affiliated Hospital of HBU, has led the medical team to take the lead in large-scale application of spontaneous breathing single-port thoracoscopic technology. Up to now, they have successfully completed nearly 800 cases of spontaneous breathing single-port thoracoscopic surgeries, greatly improving the surgical efficacy of lung cancer patients. In recent years, Li has been invited to interpret, share and demonstrate the spontaneous breathing single-port thoracoscopic technology at high-level academic conferences at home and abroad, winning the attention and recognition from domestic industry experts and scholars.
