HBU Holds the "Reading & Future" Reading Month

On the afternoon of April 18th, 2024, the opening ceremony of the "Reading & Future" Reading Month at Hebei University was held in front of the library at the Wusi Road campus. Meng Qingyu, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Meng Qingyu pointed out that the Chinese nation has always advocated reading, and the Party and government attach great importance to promoting reading among the entire population. HBU has always regarded reading as an important way to implement the fundamental task of moral education and talent cultivation quality improvement. The library should provide a variety of reading promotion activities to serve the educational system of the university, guiding teachers and students to love books and enjoy reading. He hoped that all teachers and students could participate in the activities of the Reading Month, creating a strong atmosphere of loving to read, reading good books, and reading well on campus.

Zhao Junling, a national reading promotion expert, Vice Chairman of the Reading Promotion Committee of the Chinese Library Association, and professor at the School of Management, as well as Guan Yi, student representative, also spoke at the event.

Meng Qingyu, Zhao Junling, along with Li Weisen, Executive Deputy Minister of the Party Committee Propaganda Department, Bai Jin, Secretary of the University Student Union, and student representative Guan Yi jointly initiated the Reading Month event crystal ball. Jin Shengyong, Secretary of the Library Party Committee and Director of the Library, presided over the opening ceremony.

During the opening ceremony, various student organizations such as Sanyu Calligraphy Society, Wushu Association, and Library Reading Association, performed wonderful programs.

Officials from the Party Committee Propaganda Department, University Student Union, Library, as well as library staff and student representatives, attended the opening ceremony.
