Seven Provincial Key Medical Disciplines Settle in the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University

Recently, Health Commission of Hebei Province announced the list of provincial key medical disciplines during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. Seven disciplines that General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, Cardiovascular Medicine, Medical Oncology, Radiological Imaging and Gynecology in the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University were recognized as provincial key medical disciplines, which marked a new breakthrough in hospital discipline construction and fostered new drivers to relieve Beijing of functions nonessential to its role as the capital.

The Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University attaches great importance to discipline construction, optimizes discipline teams, gives full play to team strength, and adheres to goal-orientation and problem-orientation. It also aims at international and domestic advanced levels, strives to enhance scientific and technological innovation, strengthens discipline and talents cultivation and echelon construction, and promotes its high-quality development with continuous improvement and breakthrough of discipline construction level. Firstly, its ability of scientific and technological innovation has been continuously improved. It has won fruitful scientific and technological achievements represented by the first prize of provincial scientific and technological award and realized clinical transformation, promoting a number of characteristic project technologies and new technologies with advanced level in Hebei Province and China to widely serve the clinic. Secondly, it has achieved remarkable results in the training of discipline talents and built a group of high-level discipline talent teams composed of academic leaders, reserve leaders and young and middle-aged backbone staff. Thirdly, its medical services developed with high quality and closely kept up with the coordinated development of health services in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Moreover, many of its high and new technologies were in line with the international frontier, providing a solid guarantee for people's health.

Cheng Shujie, president of the hospital, said that they would give full play to the advantages and functions of provincial regional medical centers, further improve the key investment, support and construction of provincial key medical disciplines, boost the improvement of other disciplines with the construction of key disciplines, and promote the leap-forward development of medical discipline construction in Hebei province.
