HBU Photovoltaic Team Leads the Formulation of “Test Method for Efficiency Loss of Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Cells after Cutting and Dicing”
Recently, the China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) released Announcement No. 1 of its 2025 standards, approving the publication of 13 association standards, including T/CPIA 0107—2025 “Test Method for Efficiency Loss of Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Cells after Cutting and Dicing.” This standard was primarily drafted by the team led by Researcher Chen Jianhui of the College of Physics Science & Technology at Hebei University, with Hebei University as the primary drafting entity. Other participating units include Yingli Energy Development Co., Ltd., AIKO Solar, Anhui Huasun Energy Co., Ltd., and 12 other institutions, totaling 15. The standard will be implemented on March 30th.
With the growth of global energy demand and increasing environmental awareness, the solar photovoltaic industry is ushering in unprecedented development opportunities. However, the cutting and dicing process in photovoltaic cell production directly affects cell efficiency. The “Test Method for Efficiency Loss of Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Cells after Cutting and Dicing” specifies the test method in detail and is applicable to the efficiency loss assessment of PERC, TOPCon, HJT, and other crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells after cutting and dicing, providing a standardized basis for the photovoltaic industry.
This standard was jointly formulated by the College of Physics photovoltaic team and several well-known enterprises and research institutions. It was officially released after multiple discussions and rigorous reviews. The standard covers test environment, equipment requirements, operating procedures, and data analysis, ensuring that photovoltaic enterprises have a basis for production and quality control.
In recent years, Hebei University has thoroughly implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on scientific and technological innovation, strengthened industry-university-research collaborative innovation, attached importance to the cultivation and guidance of application results, and actively participated in the formulation of industry standards. The release of this standard reflects Hebei University's professional strength and influence in the photovoltaic industry, demonstrates the school's strong ability to solve practical industry problems, and further enhances its social service capabilities.
The successful release of this standard marks a solid step forward for the College of Physics Science & Technology photovoltaic team in scientific research innovation and standardization construction. The team will take this as an opportunity to continue to leverage its advantages and contribute to promoting the high-quality development of China's photovoltaic industry.
