Professor Pan Jianfeng Gives a Lecture in College of Law
On May 12, 2020, to celebrate the 40th founding anniversary of its law discipline, the College of Law of Hebei University invited Pan Jianfeng to give its teachers and students a lecture, themed From Results to Processes: Cognitive Changes on Evidence Review. Pan Jianfeng is the PhD advisor, professor and dean of Peking University Law School, and he is also the deputy director of the Steering Committee of Higher Law Education of the Ministry of Education, the member of the Expert Consultative Committee of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and the vice president of the Institution of Civil Procedure Law of China Law Society. The lecture was conducted through Tencent Meeting, an online meeting platform. Professor Chen Yuzhong, dean of our College of Law, presided over the lecture, and more than 100 teachers and students from the College participated in it.
The lecture mainly focused on the changes brought by the revision of Evidence Requirements in 2019, the formation of evidence and the three attributes of evidence, and the revision of some specific regulations of Evidence Requirements in 2019. First, in terms of the changes brought by the revision of Evidence Requirements in 2019, Professor Pan Jianfeng figured out that the formation and application of evidence is getting more and more attention, and it means more than the effective proof of the results. Then, the professor explained the connection between evidence and evidence materials, evidence and objective materials which can prove a case, and evidence and the fact finding of a case. Finally, Professor Pan Jianfeng talked about the revision of some specific regulations of Evidence Requirements in 2019.
After the lecture, Professor Ke Yangyou and Professor Tao Jianguo of the College of Law expressed their ideas and interacted with Professor Pan Jianfeng. The students also raised their questions, and Professor Pan Jianfeng answered them one by one. This lecture was successfully concluded in the hot atmosphere of learning.
