HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries Held The 4th Meeting of the First Joint Management Committee
On March 21, 2019, HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries held the fourth meeting of the Joint Management Committee of in our school.
Yang Xuexin, vice president of HBU, Tim·Steele, vice president of UCLan, the head of International Cooperation Office, Academic Affairs Office and HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries, Melinda·Tan, director of the Business Development Division of UCLan School of Cultural and Creative Industries, Zion·Hughes, academic director and associate dean of HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries and others attended the meeting as members of the Joint Management Committee.
Yang conveyed greetings from the director of Joint Management Committee and the president Kang Le of HBU and introduced our development opportunities, academic achievements, development strategies and the pioneering progress in international cooperation and exchange to participants, and highly affirmed the achievements of HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries. He pointed out that the School had achieved high effect since its first teaching period. He also proposed that on the basis of ensuring the steady improvement of teaching quality, it is hoped that the two sides will strengthen scientific research cooperation, focus on the construction of “Xiong'an New Area” and the strategic deployment of “One Belt and Road” and make full use of geographical advantages to further promote the coordinated development cooperation program. The international innovation concept should be fully integrated to deepen the connotation of cooperation between the two universities.
Tim·Steele said that they would further expand the educational cooperation in postgraduate level between the two universities and promote the establishment of the Joint Research Center for Cultural and Creative Industries of the School to further improve the deep cooperation and exchange between the two universities.
The meeting reviewed and approved the personnel alteration situation of the Joint Management Committee, examined the 2018 Dean's Work Report. Besides the exchange and training of teachers and other events between the two universities, the two sides had in-depth discussions and reached consensus on starting the cooperation in postgraduate level , establishing a Joint Research Center for Cultural and Creative Industries .
After the meeting, the representatives visited the new teaching building of HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication and Creative Industries, highly commended our school for promoting the deployment and construction of international cooperation and exchange.
The holding of this meeting further motivates the cooperation and exchange between our school and UCLan, which exploits new ideas for further enhancing our school international educational exchange and development.
