Professor Enrique Dussel Peter from the National Autonomous University of Mexico Visits Hebei University

On November 18, Professor Enrique Dussel Peter from the National Autonomous University of Mexico visited Hebei University.

Song Fengxuan, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Hebei University, met with the guest. Song introduced Hebei University’s history, the establishment of its regional and country-specific research institutes, and the construction of the Center for Latin American Studies, and presented Professor Dussel with an external expert certificate from Hebei University’s Latin America Research Center. Professor Dussel expressed his gratitude for the invitation and hospitality, outlined the characteristics and recent developments of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, shared the achievements of the China–Mexico Research Center he leads in promoting Sino–Latin academic exchanges, and discussed the current status and trends of research on China within Latin American academia. Zhang Jinhong, dean of the School of Philosophy and Social Sciences, chaired the session.

In the academic exchange, Professor Dussel delivered a keynote lecture titled “A New Type of Triangle Relationship: Challenges Facing China–Latin America Relations in the 21st Century.” In the afternoon, Professor Dussel engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty and students from Hebei University’s Latin America Center on topics of mutual interest, including Latin American economies and Sino–Latin relations.

Professor Dussel serves as director of the China–Mexico Research Center at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and heads the Academic Network on China for Latin America and the Caribbean. He is a renowned scholar on China-related studies and Sino–Latin relations in Latin American research. His visit effectively promoted dialogue between Hebei University and the Latin American academic community and laid a foundation for deepening future cooperation.
