HBU Establishes Low-Altitute Economy Industry Research Institute
On the morning of October 23, the unveiling ceremony for the Low-Altitute Economy Industry Research Institute was held at Hebei University's Wusi Road campus. Meng Qingyu, President of Hebei University, and Zhang Guibao, Member of the Baoding Municipal Standing Committee and Executive Vice Mayor, jointly unveiled the institute. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Feng, Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice President. Attendees included responsible persons from relevant departments of the Baoding Municipal People's Government, representatives from enterprises in the low-altitude economy sector, responsible persons from relevant university departments, and faculty representatives.
Meng Qingyu pointed out that the low-altitude economy is an important growth pole for national strategic emerging industries. Hebei University's establishment of the industry research institute by leveraging its multidisciplinary advantages and integrating resources is a key measure to align with national strategies and serve regional development. In the future, the institute will focus on four main missions: establishing systems and standards, tackling key technologies, converting scientific research achievements, and cultivating professionals. It aims to deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research to facilitate the high-quality development of the low-altitude economy. Zhang Guibao emphasized the need to effectively integrate the scenario resources and industrialisation experience of all participating units, stimulate the synergistic advantages of “technology, talent, and resources,” and inject momentum into the vigorous development of Baoding's low-altitude economy. Professor Yang Sanqiang, head of the industry research institute, reported on the institute's construction plan.
As a national strategic emerging industry, the low-altitude economy is an important engine for cultivating new quality productive forces and driving high-quality development. Based on its positioning as a key node city in the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and leveraging policy support, industrial foundation, and airspace resource advantages, Baoding City is fully committed to building itself into a benchmark city for low-altitude economy innovation and application. The collaborative establishment of the Low-Altitute Economy Industry Research Institute by Hebei University, Baoding Transportation Development Group Co., Ltd., Baoding Digital City Investment Development Group Co., Ltd., and Leading Future (Hebei) Low-Altitute Industry Development Co., Ltd., can effectively aggregate local key resources. This collaboration promotes Baoding's low-altitude economy to advance from “project introduction” to a new stage of “ecosystem building,” representing a forward-looking strategic vision rooted in Baoding and radiating influence across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
As the primary constructing unit, the relevant schools of Hebei University will form interdisciplinary, high-level joint research teams. Together with the cooperative construction units, they will carry out scientific and technological cooperation and the application of research achievements centered on the theme of “government-university-enterprise collaboration, empowering the development of the low-altitude economy.” The goal is to strive to build the institute into a technology source, talent incubator, industry booster, and policy think tank with significant influence in the low-altitude economy field within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. This aims to form a “technology-scenario-industry” closed loop, providing strong support for Baoding City's goal of building a benchmark city for the low-altitude economy.
